No, Im not talking like a dog! Im talking about World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms! I am really excited to be hosting a WOOF’er this year at BeeWench Farm. WWOOF is an educational and cultural exchange program. WWOOFing is a way to learn practical farming skills, be part of the organic agriculture movement, and experience the heart of American agrarian culture. WOOF’ers stay at farms for a period of time. Our first WOOF’er, Amanda, is set to arrive at the end of this month. She’ll be attending a Woman’s Veteran Farmers Conference with me in Davis before heading back down to the farm to begin her stay.

I don’t think she’ll be doing much of this during her stay.

Amanda comes to us with very little ‘farming’ background but with TONS of motivation and passion! Im so excited to be the first farm on her tour of California. She’s been braving the cold New England winter these past few months and I know she’s looking forward to sunny California!

Amanda will be working with me planting, harvesting, planning, scheduling, livestock management and some event planning! She’ll also have a couple of ‘special projects’ of her own while she is here; including the herb garden and working with local restaurants. And will be an integral part of our booth at EDFW14 at Castoro.

She’ll be blogging about her experience here at beewenchfarm.com and at her own blog. Please join me in welcoming Amanda to BeeWench Farm!
