Spring CSA has officially ended…the first 10 weeks of deliveries from the new location have definitely been a learning experience. Doubling my membership  this past season has presented some challenges but has also allowed me to meet many more people who are committed to local ag. The season started off a little rough, with the lack of rain and the quick heat up, the plants did not thrive as they normally would. I had full rows of crops (cauliflower and Brussels) that did not produce anything all season. But, the benefit of a warmer spring is the ‘summer’ crops like tomatoes, peppers and squashes are ready earlier in the season.

Every struggle is a learning experience and ‘hopefullly’ has a silver lining. More organization is going to be required for future seasons and I’m already implementing a few ideas for Summer.  New processes and procedures should help streamline the pick-up process and make sure that all needs of my shareholders are met. Great things are happening!

Stay tuned for more info on CSA’s, Organic or Conventional and local produce options!
