I’ve had a few questions lately regarding the Fall CSA that begins in the middle of October.
The fall CSA season is a shorter season than Spring and Summer, 5 weeks long. All shares are considered full shares. However, fall works a little different than spring or summer. The majority of the produce you’ll receive in your bag will be ‘storage’ crops..winter squashes (butternut, acorn, delicata etc), onions, garlic and root vegetables. These crops will last for many weeks (even months!) so there is not a concern of consuming your bag within the week…I design the fall CSA to help you stock up on fresh vegetables that you can enjoy throughout the rest of the winter until spring begins again. So, even a family of 1 or 2 can enjoy a ‘full’ share of the fall season.
Of course, you may also receive greens like lettuce, spinach and chard as well as fresh goat cheese that you’ll want to enjoy right away!
I hope this answers any questions, but don’t hesitate to contact me should you need any assistance or to reserve your spot!
Locally yours,
Sarah
